In many cases, the reason why the wet fastness to rubbing of the cotton fabric is low is not the shedding of the dye but the loss of the fibril of the cotton dyed after dark dyeing and the appearance fastness is reduced. Since the friction resistance of cotton under wet conditions is large, the fibrils fall off and adhere to the stained white cloth. In the dry state, the friction resistance of the cotton is small, and the fibrils are less detached. Therefore, the dry rubbing fastness is less likely to cause problems.

Treatment with a water-repellent finishing agent such as silicon is also extremely effective. If these methods are used, it is possible to change the fabric style or functionality, so it is not suitable for any situation.
